I have been painting for nearly 20 years and in that time have been lucky to have learnt many techniques from attending workshops, reading books, watching videos and looking at art both at home and abroad. Now that I have retired I run a Friday painting class where I love to share the things I have learnt along the way. I find myself also learning from everyone in the class as we share our ideas and learn together. 

 I love colour and finding out as much as I can about it has become a real journey for me. We use many Triads - Complementary colour mixing - Split Triads - glazing etc. and working with tonal values. The freedom of learning to mix the colour you want sets you free to use the colours you love, not the colour someone else tells you to use. You form your own colour identity.
