I have been painting for nearly 20 years and in that time have been lucky to have learnt many techniques from attending workshops-reading books-watching videos-and looking at art both at home and abroad.

Now that I have retired I run a Friday painting class where I love to share the things I have learnt along the way. I find myself also learning from everyone in the class as we share our ideas and learn together.

 I love colour and finding out as much as I can about it has become a real journey for me .We use many Triads –Complementary colour mixing –Split Triads-glazing etc. Working with tonal values -The freedom of learning to mix the colour you want sets you free  to use the colours you love -not the colour someone else tells you to use . You form your own colour Identity

 We often have talks about colour mixing in class it is a big part of what we do.

Colour mixing can get you hooked like it has me.
